The Medical Assistant Program (MAP)

The Allied Health/Medical Assistant Program provides training for students to become multi-skilled health care professionals. The program offers both the administrative skills required for front office duties—greeting patients, filing and updating medical records, scheduling appointments, handling correspondence and medical billing—and the clinical skills required to render basic patient care—taking medical histories, recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting the physician during an examination. In addition the program provides training in CPR, basic first aid, OSHA guidelines and online HIPAA Training. Upon completion of this program, students will be proficient in working in a vast number of health care settings such as: physician’s offices, medical laboratories, hospitals, and clinics.
